WELCOME

I hope this newsletter finds you well. It’s been years since I’ve been in contact with many of my clients. I’m finally going to attempt to re-establish contact with you, with the help of my “friend” (and, often times “nemesis”), technology.

My family and I are well. The practice has continued to grow and evolve as my interests and the demand for services in CNY changes.

I am continuing to provide career transition, career development and management consultation, and personal counseling and coaching services to individual, EAP, and corporate-referred clients.

It would be great to hear from you. If you have a moment, give me a call or send me an email. I’d also welcome the opportunity to, once again, be of service to you professionally.

Michael

RESUME TIPS

How much time do you think an employer spends reading your resume? Five minutes? Three minutes? No. Employers are more likely to spend less than 30 seconds reading your resume. Therefore, it must be visually appealing, targeted to the specific job opening and contain only relevant information, highlight your accomplishments, and minimize your weaknesses.

Is your resume up to the challenge?

REFERRALS

Referrals from former clients remain my primary and most valued source of new clients. Please feel free to pass my name along to your friends, family, and colleagues.

I will make every effort to schedule an appointment with your referral as quickly as I possibly can.

My fees have remained constant for the past several years and I do not plan an increase during 2003.

MANAGING STRESS

Stress is a normal part of our everyday lives. Good stress, or ‘eustress’, prevents boredom and helps to make life interesting and challenging. Bad stress, or ‘distress’, causes us to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed.

Research suggests that people who most effectively deal with the many stressors in their lives tend to have:

  1. a sense of self-determination

  2. a feeling of involvement in life’s experiences

  3. an ability to change negatives into positives
