FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Canadian Association of Career Educators and EmployersCACEE invites Dr. Willis to present at its annual conference in Thunderbay, Ontario, Canada on June 8, 1999January 30, 1999 - Dr. Willis was selected to present a workshop at Canada's largest, bilingual association dedicated to the process of matching students with employment, CACEE. His workshop, titled The Competency-Based Employment Interview®: A convergence of the employer and applicant perspectives, can be made available to other interested groups or organizations. Workshop description: The Competency-Based Employment Interview® is an interviewing strategy which improves the applicant's effectiveness in presenting their capabilities and the interviewers ability to select the most qualified applicant. Career counselors and employment interviewers will learn the essential components of this strategy and to focus on (a) the unique performance outcomes associated with the open position, (b) the competencies required to achieve those outcomes, and (c) the personal attributes most desires by the hiring organization. Various types of interview structures (individual, group, panel, reverse panel, etc.) and questioning techniques (behavioral, situational, etc.) will also be discussed.
