 Crisis Management: A Human Resource Perspective

(One-day program)
 

Human resource professionals must be prepared to lead their organizations through periods of crisis. This workshop focuses on comprehensive pre-incident preparation in such areas as employee relations, trauma response, and community relations as the key to effective crisis management and the recovery (individual employee and organizational) process.  

Acute Traumatic Stress Management (ATSM)

(One-day program)
 

Acute Traumatic Stress Management is a crisis intervention protocol developed for all emergency responders (police, fire, emergency medical, school personnel, corporate medical/crisis teams, etc.). It is designed to prepare emergency responders to address the emergent psychological needs of individuals exposed to traumatic events and help prevent acute traumatic stress reactions from becoming chronic stress disorders.  

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)

(Two-day program)
 

Critical Incident Stress Management is a comprehensive crisis response program (to natural and man-made disasters, acts of violence, terrorism, etc.) based on the Mitchell and Everly model. The program is designed to reduce the frequency, duration, severity of and impairment from psychological crises. This workshop covers each of the seven components of this integrated, intervention system including Critical Incident Stress Debriefings.  



Competency-Based Employee Selection®

(Full day)

Competency-Based Employee Selection is an interviewing and selection process which focuses on the definition of performance expectations, the competencies required to achieve those expectations, and the development of interviewing strategies designed to select the best candidates for key positions in an organization.

This workshop is designed for recruiters, line managers, and small business owners who wish to develop advanced interviewing and candidate assessment skills.

Participants learn to:

  • Identify performance expectations
  • Identify competencies needed to achieve performance objectives
  • Develop situational and behavioral interview questions
  • Conduct a structured candidate interview

Smart Selection®- Interviewing for Results

This hands-on, interactive workshop is designed for recruiters, line managers, and small business owners who wish to learn the basic skills associated with successful interviewing and selection.

This workshop is designed for managers and human resource practitioners who are interested in developing and implementing competency-based human resource systems to improve organizational performance.

Planning and Conducting Employee Termination Interviews

One of the most difficult and emotionally charged meetings Human Resource professionals and front line managers face is the termination interview. This workshop will help managers to plan and conduct termination interviews that protect the interests of the company as well as the rights and emotional well being of the departing employee.

Preparing and conducting effective performance appraisals is a critical component of a manager’s job. When appraisals are conducted effectively, managers and their employees work in partnership to set realistic goals and objectives, monitor progress, and identify development needs.

This interactive, skills-based course is designed for those new to the supervisor or manager role as well as those experienced managers who may desire to improve their skills. It is designed to integrate with an organization’s existing performance management and appraisal systems.

  • Identify the differences between performance management, performance appraisal, and employee development
  • Write an effective performance appraisal
  • Prepare for a productive performance appraisal meeting

A Competency-Based Approach for Personal Performance Improvement

The concepts of Total Quality Management, best practices, and benchmarking are commonly accepted business concepts. These same concepts can be utilized by individuals to establish performance objectives and improve personal performance.

  • Understand the history and process of benchmarking at a corporate level
  • Learn how these same principles can be applied to the individual
  • Establish benchmarks for your current position
