November 23, 2001 -- Dr. Willis was selected for the sixth consecutive year to serve as a presenter at the 28th Annual National Consultation on Career Development (NATCON) scheduled on January 21-23, 2002 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. His presentation is titled, "Creative Uses for the Internet" throughout the career counseling and job search processes. October 8, 2001 -- Dr. Willis received recognition as a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.

Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. August 15, 2000 -- Dr. Willis selected to present at the New York Counseling Association's 34th Annual Convention to be held in Syracuse, NY on October 19 - 20. The conference's theme is "Mission Impossible: Counselors Promoting Safe Schools and Communities". Dr. Willis' presentation is titled "Critical Incident Stress Management in The Workplace". August 4, 2000 -- Dr. Willis completed advanced training in Critical Incident Stress Management. Training includes Critical Incident Stress Management: Advanced Group Crisis Interventions and The Assaulted Staff Action Program that further enhances his trauma response and crisis management service capabilities. All programs were sanctioned by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation Inc. June 13, 2000 -- Dr. Willis was invited to serve as a panelist at the conference, Knowledge at your Fingertips, sponsored by Access Systems Educational Seminars. The presentation was titled, Roles and Experiences within a Knowledge Management Initiative. The conference was held on June 13, 2000 in Syracuse, NY. January 17, 2000 -- Dr. Willis was accepted to present at the American Counseling Association's Annual Conference in Washington, DC (March 22 - 25). His presentation is titled, Career Management in the Next Millennium: The Other Role of the Career Counselor. This workshop is designed to explore the new competencies career counselors will need to address the workplace issues facing their clients at the turn of the century. November 30, 1999 -- Dr. Willis was awarded a major training contract by the New York State Office of Mental Health to provide Critical Incident Stress Management training to nearly 250 State mental health professionals. The program, based on Dr. George Mitchell's model, will prepare participants to effectively respond to traumatic incidents which NYS employees may face. September 27, 1999 -- Dr. Willis was selected for the fourth consecutive year to be a presenter at the largest international bilingual conference on career development, the 26th Annual National Consultation on Career Development (NATCON). NATCON 2000 will be held on January 24 - 26, 2000 in Ottawa, Ontario at the Canadian Government Conference Centre. Dr. Willis' presentation, Managing Your Career in the Next Millennium, will explore the factors influencing career management in the future and strategies one might employ to prosper in our changing workplace. August 15, 1999 -- Dr. Willis and his colleague, Janice Kavo, NP, CEAP, COHN-S, have been invited to discuss their experiences in managing critical incidents in the workplace at the October 15, 1999 meeting of the Central New York Employee Assistance Professionals Association. Dr. Willis and Ms. Kavo have completed the Basic Critical Incident Stress Management Course, a prerequisite for facilitating Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISD). Both have experience in the management and delivery of crisis intervention services to business and industry. June 25, 1999 -- New York State Counseling Association accepts Dr. Willis' proposal to present at its 1999 Annual Conference, "Renew For The 21st Century". Dr. Willis' presentation titled, The Electronic Job Search - More than the Internet: A Case Study, will explore the range of tools (Internet, application software, hardware, databases, etc.) the savvy job seeker can successfully employ. The conference is in Albany, NY (October 24 - 26, 1999). June 15, 1999 -- Polaris Associates, the human resource management consulting division of Michael J. Willis & Associates, was awarded a multi-year contract with the New York State Governor's Office of Employee Relations to provide, when requested, organizational & leadership development, training, and facilitation services to 60+ Agencies and Departments of the New York State. May 1, 1999 -- Ontario Association of Help Centres invite Dr. Willis to speak at annual conference held at St. Catharine's, Ontario, Canada on May 31, 1999. April 14, 1999 -- Susan S. Palé elected Vice-President of the Central New York Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. February 1, 1999 -- Dr. Willis and Ms. Palé participate in Knowledge Management (KM) seminar developed by Access Systems. January 30, 1999 -- Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) invites Dr. Willis to present at its annual conference in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada on June 8, 1999. January 10, 1999 -- National Consultation on Career Development (NATCON) selected Dr. Willis to present workshop at 25th annual conference in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on January 26, 1999. |
